Free Great Lakes Film Screenings Set for Wolcott and SUNY Oswego in November

OSWEGO – Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary will host two free screenings of All Too Clear: Beneath the Surface of the Great Lakes, including a November 19 event at SUNY Oswego, in partnership with the university’s Great Lakes Institute and Inspired Planet Productions.

The screenings will begin at 6 p.m. November 17 at The Palace Theater in Wolcott and at 6 p.m. November 19 in Room 315 of Park Hall at SUNY Oswego.

Filmmakers Zach Melnick and Yvonne Drebert will attend both events to discuss the story behind the film and answer audience questions, according to the sanctuary’s announcement.

The documentary uses underwater drones to explore how invasive quagga mussels are changing Great Lakes ecosystems. According to the announcement, the husband-and-wife filmmaking team spent more than 150 days filming underwater, documenting freshwater wildlife and environments as part of the film’s scientific exploration and natural history story.

Both screenings are free and open to the public. No registration is required, and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

SUNY Oswego’s event listing gives the film’s running time as 60 minutes, followed by a question-and-answer session with the filmmakers. The campus program is listed from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Additional campus event information is available on the SUNY Oswego events calendar. Information about the sanctuary is available on the Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary website.
