Students in sixth grade at Granby Elementary celebrated the American economy with a “Free Market Fair.”

The fair was culminating activity for a social studies unit on the economy, where students studied capitalism and the Egyptian, Chinese, Indian and Medieval economies.
Students created merchandise demonstrating an understanding of supply and demand, business plans and profit margins.
Students designed posters to advertise their business.
Some even took preorders the day before the event at the school’s first-ever sneak peak of merchandise.
Some students chose to donate their earnings to the treatment of Paulie Morley, a two-year-old with leukemia in Hastings.
