Superintendent of Schools Bill Crist is enthusiastic and supportive of what has become an annual honor.

Crist said, “We have celebrated and honored organizations and an individual for their contributions toward our students. We need to continue this award to recognize deserving organizations and individuals who support education.”

As in the past the recipient of this award must be a community member or organization that resides in the Oswego City School District and has displayed exemplary support for the district through leadership, service, volunteerism or donations.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Oswego City School District will recognize the “Friends of Education” and the “Friend of Education.”

Crist noted, “The ‘friends’ award will be presented to a business or organization while the ‘friend’ honor will be bestowed upon an individual who has made substantial contributions to the district.”

Nominations can be made by any community member or district employee.

However, employees of the Oswego City School District are not eligible to receive this award.

A nomination form is available on the Oswego City School District Web Site or can be obtained from the District Clerk’s office on the terrace level of the Education Center, 120 E. First St.
