Oswego, New York – Friends of Recovery Oswego County was recently awarded $14,000 to support recovery services for Oswego County residents impacted by substance use disorder. This funding will support Friends of Recovery Oswego County’s mission to work collaboratively to create and promote strategies and solutions for long-term recovery for those impacted by substance use disorder in Oswego County and ensure availability and accessibility for all.
Friends of Oswego County is pleased to receive this grant award and put it towards recovery services that will meet people where they are in a stigma-free and nonjudgemental environment that embraces harm reduction. Young adults, adults, and families will be linked with resources and support to promote recovery and wellness while being treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. These services are focused on reducing barriers that prevent individuals affected by substance use disorder from receiving support and services that can sustain long-term recovery. “The Richard S. Shineman Foundation is compelled to support Friends of Recovery of Oswego County in their vital mission to help individuals and families break free from addiction. Their holistic approach to recovery strengthens both the people they serve and the broader community. Investing in programs like these fosters hope, resilience, and opportunities for lasting change in Oswego County.” – Chena Tucker, Foundation Director, Richard S. Shineman Foundation
