Chris Ells, Athletic Director Fulton Schools and Steve Osborne, Rotary member.

FULTON –  The Fulton Noon Rotary Club recently listened to a presentation from Chris Ells, Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics from the Fulton City School District.

Chris updated the club members on the variety of sports offered through the district. There are 60 sport teams with 10 being basketball which includes both boys and girls. Chris credits much of the student interst in basketball to the Fulton Knee High program. He also mention that the school’s graduation rate is around 87%, but those students involved in sports is 100%.

Fulton’s Unified Basketball is a program for students with special needs. Other districts commend Fulton for its accomplishment. Ells says community involvement was a driving force behind its success. It’s a great inclusive program that gives all students the opportunity to compete.

Fulton Noon Rotary meets at 12:00 noon on the first three Thursdays of the month at the Tavern on the Lock in Fulton.
