FULTON – The Fulton City School District’s band program was well-represented during the recent New York State School Music Association Majors Evaluation Festival, held recently at Mexico Middle School.
The Fairgrieve and Lanigan Fusion Band, directed by Stephanie Mata, received a Level I gold rating, while the Fulton Junior High School 7th Grade Band, directed by Carrie Foster, received a Level II bronze rating. A Level VI gold rating was awarded to the GRB Wind Ensemble, directed by Terry Caviness.
Mata said bands, orchestras and choruses are invited to perform for two specially-trained adjudicators at the NYSMMA Majors Festival. Ensembles may compete at six different levels and each ensemble is given a rating of participation, bronze, silver or gold.
