When it came to the attention of the Fulton Lions Club that all four floors of the public library in Fulton, NY were not accessible to all people in the community, the Lions decided to help out. It was decided that the proceeds of the annual Fulton Lions Club concessions fundraiser at the Fulton Memorial Day Salute 2008 would go to the Fulton Library Elevator Project.
On October 15, 2008, Fulton Lions Club donated the sum of $2,000.00 to the Fulton Public Library towards the Fulton Library Elevator Project. King Lion Steve Chirello and Lion Peggy Donnelly visited the library and were treated to a tour of the historical site and stately building by Marian Stanton. This building lies on the shore of the Oswego River and boasts a brook running beneath it.
