FULTON, NY – The Fulton Lions Club received a presentation from Oswego County Opportunities’ North Country Cancer Services Program (NCCSP), at their January meeting.
Carolyn Handville, NCCSP coordinator, described the program which offers free breast, cervical and colon cancer screenings and diagnostic services to eligible community members who are uninsured, ages 40-64. NCCSP serves Oswego, Lewis, Jefferson and St. Lawrence counties.
“If cancer is found from these tests, our program and staff can help enroll eligible clients into the Medicaid Cancer Treatment Program for full coverage of treatment services,” Handville said. “Early diagnosis is key. If it’s treatable, it’s beatable.”
