Members of the Fulton Lions Club will be stationed at retail establishments throughout Fulton For White Cane Days from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., May 5 to 6, to accept donations for the club’s efforts in aiding the visually impaired.
“The Fulton Lions Club is one of the largest and most active in our district,” said Fred Aldrich, Fulton club president. “Successful events like our Duck Derby, Lions Loot and White Cane Days help us provide assistance in a variety of ways to the people of Fulton. This year alone, we’ve donated more than $7,000 in free eyeglasses and eye examinations. Over the years, the Fulton Lions Club has helped pay for eye operations, donated closed caption television equipment, contributed to seeing eye dog training and recycled thousands of pairs of eyeglasses.”
Lions will be stationed at Struppler’s Shur Fine Market, 909 W. First St.; and at Walmart Super Center, Rt. 3.
