Fulton Music Boosters Organizing; Meeting Tonight

FULTON, NY — A music booster group for Fulton schools, dormant for several years, is being revived to support the high school’s instrumental and choral music programs, according to Dave Bullard, a longtime band parent who is among those organizing the group.

The group holds its first significant meeting on Monday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. in the band room at G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton. Parents of musicians, students, alumni and anyone interested in helping to grow the music program are welcome to attend.

“We have outstanding musical groups in the high school and excellent teachers,” said Bullard. “We need to complete the circle by getting parents and the community behind our musicians, just as the booster groups do for our sports and academic programs.” He noted that several students every year go on to college, aiming for careers in music.

The group’s initial goal is to provide support for the high school bands, choruses and orchestras. As the group grows and achieves its initial objectives, the booster group intends to include the junior high and elementary music programs.

Anyone seeking more information can contact Bullard at [email protected] or at 598-9535.
