FULTON – At a recent Fulton Noon Rotary luncheon, the club presented several scholarships to Fulton high school students. The club’s first scholarship was awarded in 1997 and the club has awarded over $80,000 in scholarships since.
Major donors over the years have included the family of Sandy and Sylvia Squires, the Ken Patrick family and the General Dr. Ravindra and Dr. Manjula Shah family. Brookfield Renewable US also became a donor in 2025.
This year’s recipients include Olivia Hendrickson, Shein Martinez-Lopez, Angus McClave, Lily McCoy, Finley Nye and Madeline Viscome. Cassandra Guillaume was also a recipient but unable to make the luncheon.
Many of this year’s recipients had been a part of the Early College Program at G. Ray Bodley High School. This incredible program allows students to earn college credits while still in high school, giving Fulton students a strong head start in completing their degree. Many are also members of the school’s H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Everywhere) Club which focuses on local charity work, school wide positive campaign and community engagement.
Brian Pulvino, President of the Rotary club, commented: “By recognizing and celebrating student achievements, Rotary clubs play a vital role in fostering learning and encouraging students to strive for excellence.”
Fulton Noon Rotary meets at 12:00 noon on the first three Thursdays of the month at the Tavern on the Lock in Fulton.
