Fulton Noon Rotary learns about Emergency Management

FULTON – The Fulton Noon Rotary Club recently listened to a presentation from Terry Bennett, Emergency Management Coordinator from the Oswego County Emergency Management Office (EMO). Terry talked about how the county handles emergency preparedness and brought a sample of what a basic emergency supply kit should consist of and that each family member should be aware of its location.

She also talked about Oswego County’s Hyper-Reach service. This service notifies residents of community alerts and emergencies such as missing children and vulnerable adult searches, local law enforcement situations, and hazardous materials emergencies. Hyper-Reach will call all landline telephones in an affected area. People who do not have a landline or would like alerts on their cellular telephones should sign up through the Oswego County E-911 Communications Center at www.oswegocountyny.gov/911.

Terry has been with the County’s EMO for over 30 years and is also a Fulton Rotarian. Fulton Noon Rotary meets at 12:00 noon on the first three Thursdays of the month at the Tavern on the Lock in Fulton.
