FULTON – The Fulton Sunrise Rotary Club announces the first four winners of its brand-new Best Of Fulton awards, designed to showcase the people and organizations that make the Fulton community a better place to live. The winners will be honored at a dinner Friday, May 1 at the Tavern on the Lock restaurant at 5 p.m. Tickets to the buffet dinner are available from Sunrise Rotary Club members for $40.

The inaugural winners are:

  • Business: Lakeview Lanes for its commitment to hosting charitable events and giving generously back to the community.

  • Charitable Institution: All Saints Episcopal Church for its longstanding meal program to help meet the challenges of hunger in our midst.

  • Artist: Joseph Cortini for his years of bringing music to us as a musician and as promoter of the Fulton Jazz Festival all while simultaneously offering his services to charitable groups.

  • Lifetime Achievement Award: Carol Fox for her decades of voluntarily leading the Fulton Community Band.

“There are so many people and businesses doing great work in our community and our club wanted to find a way to make it visible to Fultonians. It was very hard to narrow down the list to these four worthy winners because so many people work so hard to make our city better. We look forward to making this an annual event,” said Kevin Kovacs, President of the Fulton Sunrise Rotary Club.

Musician Steve Maclean plays during the cocktail hour. Raffles for baskets of goods and a quilt will benefit local charities.

Sunrise Rotary meets every Friday at 7 a.m. at Mimi’s Drive-In and can be followed at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100075866000155.
