On Friday, February 9th six seniors stepped onto the court at G. Ray Bodley high school as their high school basketball careers come to a close. Supported by family, friends and school district employees these ladies played their hearts out.
Fulton celebrated the long careers of Natalie Frost, Laura Bartlett, Carleigh Patterson, Riylee Niver, Mandy Miller, and Leanna Rupert. These young ladies started their careers through the Fulton Knee High and St. Paul’s Leprechaun leagues. They have come together to form quite a force against n the court.
Despite the loss, the highlight of the game was the Syracuse Women’s basketball team joining the crowd. These ladies brought fat-heads of the seniors, sat behind the bench, lined up with the team at the national anthem and the announcement of the starting lineup. The team stayed all night and cheered the Fulton girls on until the final seconds. The community and parents extended their sincere gratitude to these ladies for supporting the Fulton girls.
Several of the Fulton girls will continue their athletic career at the college level. The parents of these fine young ladies will continue to support and cheer on their new teams in the coming years and wish each of these ladies the best of luck.
