FULTON, NY – G&C Food Distributors and Brokers Inc. showed its ongoing commitment to strengthening our community recently by making two gifts to local YMCAs.

G&C donated $20,000 in support of the annual campaign at the Fulton Family YMCA and $10,000 in support of the annual campaign at the North Area Family YMCA in the town of Clay.
David Lepage, president of G&C Foods, said his company and its 230 employees are dedicated to giving back to their communities, especially in ways that benefit local youth.
Giving to the Y creates a ripple effect, he said.
“I live in Granby,” Lepage said. “I see the amount of need that exists in Oswego County. The Y provides a great service to every place they’re located. And in a place like Fulton, where there’s so much need, it is even more important.”
The gifts help the YMCAs remain places of belonging for all people, regardless of their financial situation, said Lisa Pachmayer, executive director of the two YMCAs.
The Y provides financial aid to kids, families, adults and seniors in need, who otherwise would be unable to afford a YMCA membership.
Lepage said that one of G&C’s senior managers volunteers on the board of the North Area Family YMCA, where about a quarter of all members receive financial aid.
“The Y has the facilities, the programs and the people to change so many lives,” Pachmayer said. “G&C has stepped up to help the Y strengthen families and seniors and kids who really need help. We can’t thank them enough.”
