George Reed Leads 4 County Grange Seminar

WILLIAMSTOWN, NY – On July 9, Oswego County Pomona Master George A. Reed welcomed 20 Pomona representatives from Jefferson, Lewis, Oneida and Oswego counties to a meeting at Ricard Grange in Williamstown.

Pomona Master Reed led a seminar of leaders in the Grange to improve the organization and function of the three counties Granges.

The purpose of Pomona Grange is to strengthen and aid the subordinate Granges.

The Pomona Granges take care of the business interest of the order in their several districts.

A lively discussion of the role their Pomona Granges have and methods to improve their organization was participated in by the representatives.

Many successful projects were reviewed and suggestions were made by the participation.

One suggestion was to have regular meetings of cluster of counties to encourage each other and improve communications between state and local Granges.

Those in attendance enjoyed the gathering and felt it was a positive experience.

Attending the gathering were Oneida Master Fred Brower, Fred VanNamie, Lewis County’s Jeil and Catherine Maroff, Master Jesse Schantz, Jefferson County’s Lottee Derhan, and Karen Wilcox, Oneida’s Kathleen Hughes, and Catherine Maroff.

Oswego County’s representatives were Master Reed, Carol Reed, Robert Lewis, Oscar and Helen Grossman, Allyn Sponable Ann Taylor Carol Rohrposer, Arrita Ware Floyd Ware Barbara Sherman and Sue Widowsk.
