Give For A Kid Program Making Spirits Bright

FULTON, NY – Volunteers and staff of Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s Emergency Services Program have been busy sorting and distributing a wide variety of children’s gifts as the agency’s ‘Let’s Give For A Kid’ program strives to make dreams come true for families less fortunate in our community.

Catholic Charities’ Let’s Give For A Kid program provides families in desperate need with two to three toys per child.

Clothing, hats and mittens are also available for gifts.

With the increased demand that the agency has been receiving this holiday season, there was concern that they would not be able to help as many families as they would like.

“We have had a tremendous amount of requests,” said director of emergency services Helen Hoefer. “However, thanks to the many donations we have received from concerned individuals, businesses, and organizations, including Toys For Tots, we will be able to provide gifts to many families. Those who have donated to our ‘Let’s Give For A Kid’ program truly understand the impact this program has on families and find that supporting it is a very rewarding experience. It is a wonderful program that puts a smile on a child’s face and a tear of appreciation in a parent’s eye.”
