Google Car Visits Oswego County

OSWEGO, NY – A Google Maps Camera Car was recently spotted in the city of Oswego.

It was being prepared for a day of capturing images.

These specially-equipped cars are fitted with various directional cameras, GPS units and laser range scanners for recording rough 3D images which are then “stitched” together to provide panoramic views.

Google Street View is a technology featured in Google Maps and Google Earth that debuted in the U.S. in 2007.
