GRANBY, NY – Granby Elementary School was buzzing with excitement recently as they held a school-wide Gator Bash assembly to honor role model students and celebrate the many successes of their first six weeks of school.
Lead by Granby Elementary Principal Heather Perry, staff and students from kindergarten through sixth grade gathered in the cafeteria for their first Gator Bash of the year.
This particular celebration assembly was extra special as it marked their first Gator Bash including Lanigan Elementary School’s fourth grade classes, who have joined the Granby family until current renovations at Lanigan are complete.
In addition, one student from each class was presented with a Respect Role Model Award for demonstrating extraordinary character and being a positive behavior example for other students.
Following a booming round of applause for their fellow classmates, the cafeteria filled with laughter and cheers as students and staff watched a musical slideshow of school photos recapping the various student accomplishments achieved since the start of the school year.
As part of the PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) philosophy adopted by the Fulton City School District, students at Granby Elementary School are expected to uphold positive behavior virtues like being respectful, responsible, safe, and ready to learn.
