GRANBY – All hail, kindergarten kings and queens at Granby Elementary School!

Students in grades one through six lined the school halls as they saluted and cheered the kindergarten royalty during the annual Kings and Queens parade.
The kindergartners dazzled in crowns, robes and sashes as they waved to their kingdom before heading back to their classrooms.
The parade was a culmination of a Listening and Learning strand on royalty.
Kindergarten teacher Jessica Frost said students learned about royal families, vocabulary words about royalty, and read various stories about princesses, among other educational highlights.

Students paired up to construct castles and families joined in on the royalty fun by helping their kindergartners create family crests as a project-based learning activity.
