Granby First Graders Plan Blood Drive

In the study of the human body, first grade students at Granby Elementary School have learned all about blood and its importance in life.

The first grade classes at Granby Elementary School decided to host a Red Cross Blood Drive at the school as part of a project based learning initiative. In front seated is Abigail Somers. To put that knowledge into a practical community service project, the students and their teachers have organized a blood drive at the school to be held on October 22 from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be on hand and organizers are asking those interested in donating to stop by.

The students have set a goal of 24 pints of blood donated and hope to exceed that goal.
