Granby Second Graders Visit Richardson-Bates House Museum

OSWEGO, NY – Granby Elementary School second graders experienced Christmas of yesteryear as they recently toured the Richardson-Bates House Museum in Oswego.

Granby students learned about Dr. Mary Walker, who served as a surgeon during the Civil War, during their recent visit to the Richardson-Bates House Museum.

While the students toured the house, they took a step back in time as they learned both Richardson-Bates family and Oswego history.

“They get to see what life was like in the Victorian era,” teacher Thomas Briggs II said.

The visit tied into educational modules about the Civil War and communities.
