‘Grape Expectations’ Wine Tasting Event To Benefit Catholic Charities Of Oswego County

FULTON, NY – Catholic Charities of Oswego County will host Grape Expectations,” a wine tasting fundraiser on Sept. 28, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the River Vista Center, 810 S. First St., it was announced by Mary-Margaret Pezzella-Pekow, CCOC executive director.

All funds raised will benefit CCOC’s Catholic Youth activities.

“Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Catholic Charities or from any Catholic Charities board member. The ticket price includes entrance fee, tasting of nine wines, hors d’oeuvres and desserts, live music, art demonstrations, and a good time,” Pezzella-Pekow said.

Attendees may also purchase wine by the glass at the event.

The event will begin with live music performed by local band Canvas Moon, an acoustic trio that brings a blend of original and traditional pieces to the stage; and Kathy’s Cakes of Fulton is providing food. Art will be on display and for sale by CNY Arts, Lakeside Artisans, the Fulton Art Association, and the Art Association of Oswego.

“This fundraising event is a great opportunity to sample a variety of wines and delicious food, while enjoying local artisans and their work. We are grateful for their support of our event,” said Fran Lanigan, event co-chair.

“Catholic Charities of Oswego County is a dynamic organization that is engaged to meet current social needs with professionalism, credibility and care,” said Pezzella-Pekow. “We are dedicated to caring for those in need while promoting human development, collaboration, and the elimination of poverty and injustice. Catholic Charities of Oswego County provides many services including children’s and adult’s mental health programs, children and family services, a thrift store, food pantry, and the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO).”
