GRB Class of 1975 Sponsors New Recreation Park Sign, Play Area Community Build Picnic Set For Sept. 19

On Saturday, Aug. 1, Members of the G. Ray Bodley High School class of 1975 celebrated its 40-year class reunion by gathering at the new Recreation Park sign that their fundraising efforts helped pay for. Balloons were released in remembrance of classmates who have passed away.

The class was able to raise $3,175 for improvements to the park, according to Friends of Fulton Parks board member, Kelley Weaver. With the help of Steve Chirello Advertising, Fulton, a new sign was designed and installed near the Chestnut Street entrance. The class also sponsored a bench dedicated to their classmates who have passed away.

“Recreation Park is undergoing a three-phase project that will restore the pavilion and update playground equipment,” Weaver said. Additional funding will go towards these upcoming renovations.

Colleen Madigan, a member of the class of 1975, organized the fundraiser and also encouraged previous classes to contribute to the park’s restoration.

“They have great memories from the park and they appreciate their Fulton childhood,” Weaver said. “They would like to help pass that along for the next generation to have the opportunity to make their own fond memories in the park.”
