OSWEGO – Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s “Great Tastings,” is loaded with food, fun and music for 2 – 5 p.m. Sunday, May 1 at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center, Oswego, said Mary Margaret Pezzella-Pekow, CCOC executive director.
“We’ve got a wonderful lineup of both savory and sweet foods for folks to sample, as well as wine and craft beers from Central New York,” Pezzella-Pekow said. “Combine that with pianist Larry Rapshaw, multiple gift raffles, a 50-50 drawing, and New York State Lottery ticket boards, for a great time on the lake shore.”
Food offerings include selections from Tavern on the Lock, Canale’s Restaurant, Kathy’s Cakes and Specialty Treats, Man in the Moon Candies, The Hot Shoppe, and G.S. Steamers.
Pezzella-Pekow said, “They are complimented by beverage sampling being offered by Colloca Estate Winery, Lakeland Winery, and Eagle Beverage, which will be offering both craft beer and wine samples.”
Last year’s event raised nearly $10,000 for community services programs.
“Thanks to the generous support we received from this event, our food pantry was able to feed 488 families, and the Catholic Youth Organization, received funding for its summer youth program. Our goal this year is to raise $12,500 for our Community Services programs,” Pezzella-Pekow said.
For the price of a ticket, guests receive a complimentary wine glass and can sample offerings from NY wineries and local restaurants and specialty shops.
here will also be a 50-50 drawing, and multiple gift raffles. Vendors will have items for purchase.
Tickets are $25 per person and are available at the Catholic Charities office, 365 W. First St., Fulton, at the door, or from any CCOC board member.
