OSWEGO – Members of the Oswego County Green Team and the Fulton High School SUNY ESF Global Environment class spoke to the Oswego County Legislature in May about efforts to reduce littering in Oswego County.

The Global Environment class is involved in a schoolwide recycling program that removes five metric tons of material from the school’s waste stream annually.
Under the leadership of faculty member Dan Mainville, the high school students are laying the groundwork for an outreach program to Oswego County elementary schools for an anti-littering project that will focus creating pride and ownership in their community.
The Green Team is a volunteer group working to reduce litter by educating the community, encourages the use of waste receptacles, and distributes litter bags for vehicles.
