Greg Clark Announces Candidacy for Oswego County Legislature, 19th District

OSWEGO, NY – Longtime municipal finance professional and Town of Oswego resident Greg Clark has announced his candidacy for the Oswego County Legislature, representing the 19th District. Drawing on more than four decades of experience helping local governments strengthen budgets, improve operations, and encourage economic growth, Clark says he is ready to put that experience to work for the residents of Oswego County.

A graduate of St. Mary’s School, Oswego Catholic High School, SUNY Oswego, and Syracuse University, Clark has dedicated his professional career to municipal finance, working with cities and counties across the nation to improve financial performance and deliver better results for taxpayers. Three years ago, he and his wife, MaryJo, returned home to Oswego to be closer to family and friends. Together, they are proud parents of three daughters and grandparents to four grandchildren.

“I’ve spent the past 45 years helping local governments solve problems, manage budgets responsibly, and plan for the future,” Clark said. “Now I want to bring that experience home to Oswego County. Our residents deserve thoughtful leadership that protects taxpayer dollars, encourages economic growth, and ensures county government works efficiently and effectively for everyone.”

Clark’s campaign is built around five core principles: financial responsibility, economic development and job growth, public safety, smart government, and protecting taxpayers. He believes strong fiscal management and strategic planning will help position Oswego County for long-term success.

“My goal is simple,” Clark said. “I want to help build a stronger Oswego County by making smart financial decisions, supporting our local businesses, attracting new investment, and creating opportunities that benefit families today while preparing our community for future generations. We have tremendous potential, and I believe our best days are still ahead.”

Clark also expressed his strong support for law enforcement and first responders, including Sheriff Don Hilton and initiatives that enhance public safety throughout the county.

“Safe communities are the foundation for economic growth and a high quality of life,” Clark said. “We must continue supporting the men and women who protect our neighborhoods while ensuring county government remains transparent, accountable, and focused on practical solutions.”

Clark said he plans to bring professional expertise, independent thinking, and common-sense leadership to the Oswego County Legislature while remaining accessible and responsive to the residents of the 19th District.

The general election will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Early voting begins Saturday, October 24, and continues through Sunday, November 1.
