HANNIBAL – With the school year approaching, freshmen in the Hannibal Central School District recently had a chance to familiarize themselves with a new building during an orientation session.

High school guidance staff and administrators welcomed students and their parents to the building and offered some tips to help the freshmen embark on a successful high school career.
Principal Stephen Dunn advised the students of the learning options and extracurricular activities available to them as high schoolers.
“We hope you will gain a lot of knowledge and grow academically,” Dunn said. “From a human standpoint, you’ll learn a little bit about yourself too. You will leave here with knowledge and character.”

While Dunn and the guidance team addressed parents in the auditorium, the freshmen were tasked with finding their lockers and becoming acclimated with the high school.
Even if the students have trouble finding their classroom on the first day, there are plenty of people available to help, Dunn said.
“We are here for your success,” he said.
