Positive energy and excitement filled the cafeteria at Dennis M. Kenney Middle School on Wednesday, as hundreds of students earned recognition for academic achievement, improvement and perfect attendance.

During a morning pizza party celebration honoring seventh and eighth graders, Principal Dee Froio congratulated the students for their hard work.
She applauded the nearly 100 honorees for persevering and meeting the rigorous course work during the second quarter.
“You’re into the most challenging part of the school year, and you have all stepped up to the plate,” Froio said. “You have lifted up your classmates and you have set the bar high. I cannot tell you how proud we are of each and every one of you.”

In addition to the students honored in the morning, a separate celebration was held in the afternoon to recognize more than 100 fifth and sixth graders who excelled during the second marking period.
Froio encouraged the students to continue exhibiting a good work ethic and dedication, which she noted will lead to endless possibilities.
“You’re laying the foundation to be successful in life because success comes to those who work hard,” Froio said as she congratulated the honorees.
