HANNIBAL – Fire safety was in focus Oct. 24 at Fairley Elementary School, as kindergartners learned various fire prevention techniques.

Members of the Hannibal Volunteer Fire Department were on hand to provide students with tips and advice to reduce the risk of fire.
Chief Carl Emmons and his team reviewed potential hazards and told students to never play with matches or lighters.
In addition to the prevention tips, the firefighters also discussed what to do in the event of a fire.
Students learned to “get out and stay out” if there is smoke or fire.
The firefighters also demonstrated the stop, drop and roll technique.
