HANNIBAL – Although school was not in session on May 28, nine Hannibal Central School District students and music teacher Jeff Sawyer combined efforts with local veterans’ organizations and service personnel for an annual Memorial Day ceremony.
Student musicians Tennessee Barboza, Madeline Brown, Savannah Butterfield, Jhanae Douglas, Haley Hollenbeck, Julianna Kaufman, Tegan Margrey, Morgan Schuyler and Faith Smith performed during the remembrance event held in the Hannibal Village Square.
In addition to the student performances, there were guest speakers who honored five World War II veterans and a flyover was also conducted as well.
Sawyer noted he was impressed with the entire ceremony and was proud of the students who performed during the event.
