Hannibal Village Market IGA held its 6th annual Captain and Crew Community Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Griffin’s Greens Golf Course in Oswego followed by a Chicken BBQ dinner at Humphreys Hide-A-Way. This year, $7,000.00 was raised with all proceeds going to (3) Hannibal community not-for- profit organizations:

Dollars for Scholars – Hannibal Chapter – $3,000.00
Hannibal Free Library – $3,000.00
Hannibal Resource Center Food Pantry – $1,000.00

Winners of the tournament:
1st Place Men’s: Shane Crandell, Harvey Downs, Nick Rupert, and Cheese
1st Place Co-Ed: Jim Mangano, Debbie Wells, Adam Ellis, and Terri Fox

“We are very fortunate and proud to be able to assist the community in their efforts to raise money through this golf tournament,” said Jim Mirabito, owner of the Hannibal Village Market IGA. “The programs we chose to help this year are extremely worthwhile with many Hannibal residents benefiting from them.” In the six years the golf tournament has been in existence, the Hannibal Village Market IGA has donated
$39, 296.00 to the community!

The event’s success was achieved, in large part, due to our Co-Sponsors:

Hannibal Fire Co. & Auxiliary, Fulton Savings Bank, Bozzuto’s IGA Foods, OswegoCountyToday.com, Frontier Communications, and Sunoco along with 22 hole sponsors and numerous businesses providing prizes and refreshments.

We would like to extend a special thanks to Debbie Davis, our Deli/Bakery Manager, for preparing the food, Jimmy Holmes for coordinating the golf teams and the many volunteers who helped make this year a success.
