As part of the Village of Hannibal’s Sesquicentennial Celebration, a time capsule that had been buried for 50 years in the Hannibal Village Square, was dug up on July 10.
The contents were displayed until Saturday, August 21, when the capsule was once again buried, containing the original contents, plus additions from the year 2010. The additional items were donated by individuals and businesses.
A marker in the Village Square indicates that the capsule is to be dug up again in the year 2060.
