Hastings-Mallory Elementary students bundled up and headed out to Baldwinsville, where they enjoyed a recent field trip at Abbott Farms.

Students, staff and parents were given a guided wagon tour of the apple orchard, followed by apple picking and a tour of the farm.
Each visitor was given a bag to fill with apples that they hand-picked from the orchard.
After proceeding to the “party barn,” they were given a narrated demonstration of how Abbott makes their freshly pressed apple cider along with a hands-on presentation about the crops they grow and what each are used for.

Their trip ended with a tour of the barns, where they met various farm animals and had the opportunity to feed the goats.
Even as temperatures grew colder and it started to snow, there was nothing but smiles at Abbott Farms.
