Historic Beck’s Hotel Set for Major Revitalization Under New Ownership

MEXICO, NY — Beck’s Historic Hotel is set to undergo a transformative redevelopment that promises to breathe new life into the heart of the Village of Mexico. Under new ownership, the long-vacant property, unused for over two decades. will be reimagined as a dynamic mixed-use destination featuring a restaurant, café, boutique hotel, and luxury residential apartments. With limited high-end housing options currently available in the area, this redevelopment aims to fill a critical gap while revitalizing the village’s historic downtown.

The ownership team is working closely with the Mayor and Village of Mexico leadership throughout the planning and development process. Through this collaborative effort, all parties are working diligently to bring a shared vision to life, one that supports responsible growth, historic preservation, and long-term community benefit.

The project is expected to create a wave of economic activity, including construction jobs during the renovation phase and sustained employment opportunities once operations begin. In addition to job creation, the redevelopment will generate increased tax revenue and significantly boost foot traffic, helping to reenergize the local economy and strengthen community vibrancy.

The revitalization of Beck’s Hotel is being spearheaded by Patrick Furlong Jr. and Gregory Furlong, seasoned developers with over 60 years of combined experience in modular and manufactured home construction, property management, and real estate development. The Furlong brothers are widely recognized for their work in manufactured home communities, student housing, multi-family properties, and commercial real estate across Central New York.

Their journey began with the family business, Furdi’s, founded by their parents and rooted in manufactured home sales and community development.

Patrick and Gregory are known for their hands-on approach and commitment to quality. Notable achievements include the development of a 40,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art student apartment complex in the City of Oswego. Their extensive expertise spans all major trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and site work, ensuring each project is executed to the highest standards.

The ownership team would also like to thank the Oswego County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) for their guidance and support on this project. Through the IDA’s assistance, the team was able to take advantage of several valuable programs that have helped move the redevelopment forward.

This project would not be possible without the funding provided by Fulton Savings Bank. The ownership group is proud to have a long-standing working relationship with Fulton Savings Bank, who plays a vital role in supporting community investment and economic growth.

The project is currently in the engineering and final planning stages, with construction anticipated to begin in the coming weeks.

The Furlong brothers’ vision for Beck’s Historic Hotel marks a bold step toward a brighter future for Mexico, NY, preserving history while fostering economic growth, community pride, and lasting impact.
