SYRACUSE — SUNY Oswego Metro Center’s branch of Tyler Art Gallery will feature “The Adventures of Ignatius the Iguana,” illustrations by alumna and former art faculty member Sarah Haig, from May 1 to June 26.

A free public reception for the artist will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on May 21 at SUNY Oswego Metro Center in the Atrium building on Clinton Square in Syracuse.
“The Adventures of Ignatius the Iguana” follows a character that Haig said, “wanted to be famous for something good, so he ran away from home.” The series is an ongoing tale of Ignatius and his pal, Pedro, as together “they work their way through the challenges the world throws their way,” the artist said.
An assistant professor at the University of Tennessee-Martin, Haig earned her bachelor of fine arts degree in 2005 and master of arts in graphic design in 2007, both at SUNY Oswego.
She also taught as an adjunct instructor at Oswego from 2007 to 2008.
