Independence Day Concert To precede Fireworks

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego High School Jazz Ensemble and the Mexico Brass will be a part of Oswego’s Independence Day Celebration as they perform a patriotic concert in Breitbeck Park on July 4.

The Mexico Brass and the Veterans Color Guard will kick off the concert with a performance of the National Anthem at 8 p.m.

The Oswego High School Jazz Ensemble will take the stage at 8:05 p.m. followed by the Mexico Brass at 9 p.m.

The patriotic concert will be a perfect warmup for the stunning fireworks display that will begin at 9:45 p.m. over the Oswego Harbor.

Sponsored by the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and the sity of Oswego, this year’s fireworks display will provide the perfect ending to Oswego’s 47th Annual Independence Day Celebration.

The Oswego Independence Day Celebration begins at 1 p.m. on July 4 as the annual Independence Day Parade travels along Bridget Street from East Seventh Street to Liberty Street.

One of Oswego’s most anticipated events of the summer, the parade which features the theme “Honoring our Heritage,” offers an entertaining mix of music, floats, displays and marching bands including the Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers, The Island Band, The Kingston Grenadiers, and the CNY Fire and Police Band who will fill the parade route with music.
