New York State recently passed a law that now prohibits outdoor burning. In an effort to educate people on what this means for the agriculture community of Oswego County, there will be a meeting at the Mexico VFW building on Scenic Ave/St Rt 3 on Wednesday, March 31st from 6:30 pm to 8 pm.
Reggie Parker, Regional Air Pollution Control Engineer, NYSDEC Region 7 will give a presentation about the new regulation and how it applies to the agricultural community. Dr. Robert Somers, Manager of the Agricultural Protection Unit at the Department of Agriculture & Markets will be present to answer questions and provide insight to Ag and Market’s role in the law. This informative meeting is an opportunity for information sharing and awareness about this law.
This meeting is presented by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County in collaboration with the Oswego County Fire Coordinators office.
