Student Reese Ives reacts to Jared Campbell’s reward for the students’ excellent behavior during his program at the school.

VOLNEY – Award-winning singer/songwriter Jared Campbell visited Volney Elementary School recently where he performed and inspired the students at the school with his positive message of student empowerment.

Campbell’s performed a new song in his show which urged students to “make history.” The song encouraged students to be themselves (you be you), never give up and learn to lead.
He showed photos during his program of historical figures and leaders in all walks of life and talked about what it takes to be a great leader and the importance of lifting others up.
His song, “superhero” had students singing along and raising their hands for which superheroes they love the most with “Captain Underpants” getting the largest cheer!

The assembly at Volney Elementary School was divided into two performances with third through sixth grades and kindergarten through second grades and both enjoyed the show immensely.
The Jared Campbell performance was coordinated through the Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation’s Arts in Education program.
