John ‘Jack’ Walsh Honored With Commemorative Ceremony

A ceremony and reception honoring the late John ‘Jack’ Walsh with a commemorative plaque was held recently at the Fulton Municipal building. Walsh, who was a member of the Hamer Sing-A-Long, was recognized for his many years of community service and his vocal talents. Walsh was also received the Fulton Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008. Walsh was Fulton City Clerk from 1958 to 1985 and the plaque will hang in his honor in the city clerk’s office. The event, sponsored by Bob and Sandy Weston and Ernie and Mary Hamer, featured remarks of remembrance from many Walsh family friends, a performance by the Hamer Sing-A-Long, and closed with a reflection and prayer by Rev. Moritz Fuchs. Pictured are, from left: Fulton Mayor Ronald Woodward, Mary Hamer, Ernie Hamer, John Walsh, Harold Walsh, Sandy Walsh and daughter, Siobhan.
