HANNIBAL – Fairley Elementary School was bustling with activity prior to the start of the school year.

Kindergartners toured the building and reunited with classmates during an ice cream social.
The annual event, sponsored by Hannibal Home and School, provides kindergartners and their families with an opportunity to get acclimated to the building while reconnecting with some of their Pre-K classmates.
Principal Jody Musa joined kindergarten teachers to welcome the students and make the transition a bit easier.

Following the ice cream social, kindergartners had a chance to explore school buses and talk with the district’s transportation department staff about bus safety and routes.
The kindergartners said they were looking forward to the school year.
