Kingsford Park Students Explore STEAM at SUNY Oswego

OSWEGO – Kingsford Park Elementary School sixth-grade students recently visited SUNY Oswego’s Shineman Center for a day of hands-on STEAM learning and discovery. Students explored the wonders of science through activities involving microscopes, light science, and decoding challenges, putting their problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to work in exciting new ways.

The experience offered students a unique opportunity to engage with science beyond the classroom while gaining exposure to a college campus environment.

“At this pivotal transitional age, stepping outside the traditional classroom and onto a higher education campus sparks curiosity and shapes future aspirations in several key ways: planting the seeds for higher education, providing hands-on academic enrichment, expanding horizons and career awareness, and building community and social skills,” said Principal Jennifer Petralito.

Kingsford Park thanks the SUNY Oswego team and staff members who helped make this inspiring educational experience possible.
