La Parrilla Mediterranean bistro moves to new location

OSWEGO, NY – After four years of providing residents of Oswego and Western New York with the area’s finest Mediterranean cuisine, La Parrilla will be moving to a new location.

The new space on West Second Street will provide the restaurant’s clientele with more room, greater ambiance and an enhanced wine list to go along with the same dedication to service and succulence.

Currently located on 118 W. Second St., La Parrilla will be opening up in May just up the street at 156 W. Second St.

The old fire station is almost double the size of the previous location and will offer a banquet room for private events as well as expanded outdoor dining for a true New York-style experience.

The restaurant will conduct a soft launch at the new location come May before slowly expanding to offer dinner, lunch and delivery over the proceeding weeks.

“It’s a huge move. We’re going to have about 50 different wines,” owner and chef Ray Jock said of the relocation. “It’s an open kitchen, so you can sit at the bar and watch the cooks.”

Since opening its doors in February 2010, La Parilla has established a devoted following thanks to its fine service and signature grilled pizzas and steaks, all made with fresh ingredients procured from local vendors.

That excellent menu will only be more accessible as the restaurant moves to its more convenient location.

“It’s a better fit for us. The menu is going to stay the same, pretty much,” Jock said. “The lunch menu is simple and quick. We’ll have home-made paninis, grilled pizzas, salads, all sorts of coffees and Spanish drinks; gluten free, whole wheat, vegan, vegetarian.”
