OSWEGO, NY – The Lakeside Artisans Cooperative will continue its popular art demonstration series during Oswego Farmers’ Markets on Thursday evenings again this year.
The demonstrations will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. every Thursday in the Lakeside Artisans shop at 191 W. First St.
Demonstrations scheduled for June 2016 are:
June 2 – Carol Burkhart, an award winning water color artist, will make original water color paintings on bookmarks that she will give to visitors to the shop.
June 9 – Cindy Schmidt, well-known for her Cranky Cat art, will be making miniature acrylic paintings on watercolor paper. Her subjects will be flowers, bugs, other spring items.
June 16 – Bonnie Sommers, who usually paints birds and other wildlife on jewelry (as well as canvas), will be painting bird houses. Who wants their bird to live in a plain house?
June 23 – Woodcarver Carl Patrick will be starting to work on this year’s offering of Christmas tree ornaments. His hand-carved wooden ornaments are available on the Lakeside artisan’s tree during the holiday season.
June 30 – Glass artist Diane Chepko-Sade will be cutting and shaping pieces for her popular fused glass kayak ornaments. The pieces will later be fused in a kiln to form a colorful glass works of art.
Visitors to the Oswego Farmers’ Market on Thursday evenings are encouraged to stop into the Lakeside Artisans shop, take a look at the demonstrations and see the shop’s selection of fine art and handcrafted gifts.
