Lakeside Artisans Offering Thursday Events

Continuing its tradition of Thursday evening art demonstrations, Lakeside Artisans, 191 W. First St. in Oswego, is presenting a varied lineup for the month of July.

On July 11, Michele Southgate will demonstrate the Indonesian technique of fabric design called Batik.

Southgate will use the technique to design a silk scarf.

On July 18, Dan Leo, local fabric artist and instructor in the Art Department at Cayuga Community College, will demonstrate the technique of silverpoint drawing.

Leo uses silver spoons and wire to make his unusual drawings.

On July 25, back by popular demand, John Ruttan will again demonstrate his woodturning skills at Lakeside Artisans.

Come watch the chips fly as Ruttan creates his beautiful bowls, pens, vases and much more.

Lakeside Artisans is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, to 8 p.m. on Thursday during the farmers’ market, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. missing or outdated ad config
