The evening was packed with fun filled educational games and activities for children of all ages, including several reading games, foam fun table, and a variety of craft tables.

One of the most popular attractions was the snack station.

There, students and their families enjoyed the fruit punch, popcorn and cheese puffs that were available to munch on while enjoying the evening’s various festivities.

ELA Reading Night is aimed at showing students how fun reading can be, as well as to help parents effectively encourage literacy at home.

Lanigan Elementary School Principal Dan Johnson was very pleased with this year’s attendance.

“Last year’s event was so successful, we made sure to do it again this year,” he said.

Held in conjunction with parent/teacher conferences, the event also allowed parents to meet with teachers while their children enjoyed a safe and supervised environment.

The event, which was offered absolutely free to staff, students and their families, is one of several held at Lanigan throughout the year to bring families together for a safe and educational night of fun.
