OSWEGO — Local author Lee Ellen Hickey will share writing and self-publishing tips at the Oswego Public Library on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 1 to 2 p.m., according to a release from the library.

The free program is open to the public and will take place in the lower-level community room at 120 E. Second St., Oswego.

Hickey, author of Girl in the Glass Coffin: The Tonkin Affairs and The Murder of Cora Sweet, will discuss how she researches and outlines her books and how she learned to format them into slideshows for pitching. She will also cover finding opportunities for book signings and connecting with readers.

Both books explore true-crime history in Oswego, examining myth and fact, according to the library. The presentation will trace Hickey’s writing, publishing and marketing journey as an independent author.
