OSWEGO, NY – Oswego County Legislature Chairman Fred C. Beardsley presented his state of the county address at the March meeting of the legislature.

He began by thanking legislators and county department heads for working together to adopt a budget with neither an increase in the property tax levy nor an increase in the generic tax rate.
He addressed some of the day-to-day concerns that affect many county departments, including the County Clerk’s Office, Sheriff’s Office, Highway Department, Buildings and Grounds, Solid Waste Department and Community Development, Tourism and Planning.
He also discussed various projects and issues that the county has faced in the last year, such as the asbestos abatement project, the E-911 tower project, laws regulating synthetic drugs, fraud investigations, and the continued trend of unfunded mandates.
