Library Learning Center Offering Course On Resume, Cover Letter Writing

OSWEGO – Next month, a course that outlines different techniques in creating resumes and cover letters will be offered on September 6 from 2-4 p.m. and on September 16 from 2-4 p.m. to allow patrons two separate times to attend.

This course will cover both how to use templates to create professional-looking resumes, and what kinds of information to include in both resumes and cover letters.

An evening class will be available on September 26 from 5-7: Downloading eBooks to Digital Devices.

Using Overdrive will be held earlier on the same day from 2-4 p.m. to allow patrons to find out more information about using North Country Library System’s online book lending services through Overdrive.

? Internet Basics (#3, #4 and #5) – Sept. 11, and 18 from 10 a.m. – noon.
? Microsoft Office Classes – Word (Sept. 2-4 p.m.), Excel (Sept 11, 2-4 p.m.), PowerPoint (Sept. 18, 2-4 p.m.) and Publisher (Sept 25, 2-4 p.m.).
? Apple-Related Classes – Using iPads (Sept. 5, 2-4 p.m.), Using iPhones (Sept. 12, 2-4 p.m.) and Selecting an Apple PC (Sept 19, 2-4 p.m.).
? Using Overdrive (September 26, 2-4 p.m.) and Downloading eBooks to Digital Devices (Sept. 26, 5-7 p.m.).
? Creating Resumes and Cover Letters (Sept. 6, 2-4 p.m. and Sept. 16, 2-4 p.m.).
? Computer Maintenance (Sept. 7, 2-4 p.m.), Computer Tune-Up (Sept. 14, 2-4 p.m.), Upgrading your PC (Sept. 21, 2-4 p.m.) and Components of a Computer (Sept 28, 2-4 p.m.).
? Navigating eBay (#1 and #2), Sept 25, 10 a.m. – noon and 2-4 p.m.
? Miscellaneous Workshops: Navigating Facebook (Sept. 13, 2-4 p.m.), Utilizing Windows 10 (Sept. 20, 2-4 p.m.) and Navigating NCLS Online (Sept. 20, 2 -4 p.m.).

Tech Help Open Labs will be held on Thursday and Fridays next month and are available from 10 a.m. until noon on each of the following dates: Sept. 5, 7, 8, 12, 14, 19, 21, 22, 26 and 28.

The Library Learning Center is located on the lower level of the Oswego Public Library, and is open Monday-Friday.

All programs are free and open to the public.
