Literacy Coalition of Oswego County visits Fulton Rotary Club

Rotary President Tania Samson with Paul Gugel, LCOC

FULTON – The Fulton Noon Rotary Club recently listened to a presentation from Paul Gugel, President of Literacy Coalition of Oswego County (LCOC). LCOC is a network of agencies, institutions, businesses, and volunteers with the mission to promote literacy and advocate for literacy services in Oswego County.

Mr. Gugel talked about the services they provide and events they hold including the “Annual Read Event”. Each year the coalition teams up with a local school district to present a one-day assortment of activities, free books and giveaways. There are also local authors, face painting, craft activities, and more. It’s an event full of fun activities—all while stimulating kids and families to become more avid readers.

For more information on LCOC please visit their website at literacycoalitionofoswegocounty.com or call 315 591-4921.

Fulton Noon Rotary meets at 12:00 noon on the first three Thursdays of the month at the Tavern on the Lock in Fulton.
